Types of TAPU

TAPU in Turkey – This is a certificate of ownership of real estate. The basis for obtaining a Turkish title is a purchase and sale transaction carried out in the country and confirmed by relevant documents. The concluded agreement does not indicate a transfer of ownership. Only TAPU guarantees legal ownership of an object, which cannot be challenged even in court.

The package of documents is transferred to the Cadastral Chamber at the place of purchase of the property. This can be done either by the buyer himself or by a person representing his interests legally. Upon acceptance of the papers, the investor receives an SMS notification with a rendezvous date for re-registration of the Turkish title.

  • Arsa Payi — owner's share;
  • Bağımsız Bulüm No — number of an independent object (apartment, office, etc.);
  • Proje m² — area;
  • Cilt/Sayfa No — page and entry number.
  • Owner information:
  • Adı Soyadu / Baba Adı — owner's name(s);
  • Hissesi — share in ownership.
  • Information from the Real Estate Registry Office of the Republic of Turkey:
  • Taşınmaz Tipi / No — type of real estate and number;
  • Konum Bilgisi — location;
  • Edinme Neder — form of ownership (purchase and sale, inheritance, gift);
  • Tescil Tarihi / Yevmiye No — date and registration number;
  • Işlem Bedeli — cost.

In addition to a one-time real estate tax in the amount of 2–4% of the cadastral price of the property, there are associated costs for registering documents.
