Vergi Numerasi, or Turkish tax payer number, is, in fact, an analogue of the identification code that citizens of the former CIS countries receive. The issuance of the document is regulated by Article No. 1 of Law No. 213 of the Tax Procedure Code of the Republic of Turkey.
TIN consists of a unique combination of ten digits and is automatically assigned to every citizen of the Republic of Turkey upon birth. Individuals receive a TIN once. The code does not change throughout life, including when changing place of residence, surname, marriage registration and in other cases. Why do you need a TIN in Turkey

How to get a tax number in Turkey
Turkish identification number can be obtained in two ways:
- Personally contact the Tax Department (Maliye Vergi Dairesi).
Tax authorities operate in all provinces and cities of the Republic of Turkey. To obtain a TIN, you need to contact the regional tax office with a valid passport and a photocopy of it. The procedure is simple and takes only 15-20 minutes. In the application for a TIN you will need to include your passport details, information about parents, contact phone number (Turkish mobile operator). - Use the online application.
