Townhouse and penthouse — what is it
First, let's define the terminology: townhouse and penthouse — whatdifferencebetween objects?
Townhouse in Turkey — This is a house divided into several adjacent, usually two- or three-story residential sections, intended for separate living of several families.
Usually the developer designs several blocks in a townhouse — from two or three to ten. Each family is provided with a separate entrance, as well as a fenced plot of land and a garage or parking space in front of the house.
Penthouse in Turkey — These are apartments in the premium real estate segment, which are located on the upper or middle levels of multi-apartment residential buildings.
For reference: penthouses on the middle floors of residential complexes in Turkey are called duplexes.  ;
Turkish penthouses have panoramic views of the sea and mountains, large terraces, exclusive high-quality renovations and, often, their own elevator.

The main differences between a townhouse and a penthouse

- Penthouse — these are luxury apartments occupying the top floors of a multi-apartment residential complex.
- A townhouse is a part of a house located directly on the land.

In some projects, developers provide free planning solutions, which makes it possible to implement almost any design. In such apartments there is room not only for the kitchen area and dining room, living room and bedrooms, but also for a study, children's room, recreation area and several bathrooms.
In two-level penthouses or duplexes, owners often equip a library, gym and massage room, mini-cinema or billiard room on one of the floors. The huge windows of luxury apartments located in Turkish resorts offer stunning views of the sea, city or mountains. A large terrace allows you to place a garden or an additional relaxation area.

Turkish penthouses cost an order of magnitude higher than standard square meters in modern residential complexes. However, the number of foreigners interested in purchasing luxury apartments in Turkey is growing from year to year.

Features of townhouses
The easiest way to understand what does a townhouse mean in Turkey and what are its distinctive features, based on the meaning of the words. The literal translation of the term "town house" — this is a “house in the city.” That is, this is housing that combines the characteristics of a private house and an apartment.
As a rule, all townhouses have two or three floors. The layout provides for:
- kitchen-dining room, living room and bathroom — on the ground floor;
- bedrooms, study, children's room, bathrooms — on the second floor.
Many buyers are interested in what is the difference between a house and a townhouse. Compared to detached houses, townhouses are always located within a cottage community (or residential complex), united by a common territory and uniform architectural solutions. In addition, townhouses, as we have already clarified, are part of one residential building.
Typical characteristics of townhouses in Turkey:
- Each private block has a separate entrance and a small courtyard.
- The apartments have common walls and a roof for the entire residential complex.
- Area — about 100–200 square meters or more.
- Location — in the suburbs or quiet areas of the city remote from the center, where you can enjoy a quiet life and privacy, taking advantage of all the modern infrastructure of Turkish resorts.
The popularity of townhouses among buyers is also due to their reasonable cost.
You can buy a good townhouse in developed and new areas of Alanya for 150,000–300,000 €. Objects are available for purchase on both the primary and secondary markets.
